Three years ago my GTV-6 was hit hard in the rear for the 2nd time in 2
years. Was drivable but about a foot shorter...was obviously totaled. I
established the car's value by bringing several copies of Alfa Owner for the
appraiser to see. He gave me extra credit for the Yokohama tires, factory
alloys, new seats, etc. to get the price up to a fair market value on the
national (United States) market, of $3600 USD. I thought that was reasonable
for an '83 that was due for an engine rebuild and paint job, and it was alot
more than I could have gotten on the local market in Dallas. Turned around
and bought a Verde that was in much better shape for another $500!
