I have a UK Milano 1989 3ltr in the garage at the moment after a rear end shunt
by a ford fiesta, now probably deceased. I paid 3500 GBP (5700 USD ?).
The insurance company is offering 1500 based on our UK Glasses guide. However, my
advice is to get someone from the Alfa Owners club for a valuation (as
representative
of a specialist) and also get a feel for what they are selling for. The alfa people
and
the mechanics who have seen it think I'm being stitched up. However, on a brighter
note,
although mine was written off, but I'm getting it fixed cheaply; the jigging came
out beautifully on the first pull with what sounds like identical damage to yours,
solving the bootlid, and only leaving a small left panel indentation which can be
sorted.
The cost of my repairs including a complete respray of the whole car ( carpe diem
!)
will be 1700 GBP, but I'm reusing the bumper which survived unscathed apart from
a split gaiter.

Good luck,
Dave Milne
