red/green lites
Len Leeb asks whether being red-green colorblind works as an excuse with the
local police. Actually, the question has never come up. It isn't total, (I
CAN tell the difference between Verde Inglese and Rosso Italia) but can trip
a person badly on many marginal colors, like some purples and blue-greens,
orange and chartreuse. Can't see a color-difference between our Metallic
Champaign Berlina and Metallic Olive Green GT Veloce. As a painter I was
considered a colorist, because I knew how colors are supposed to behave and
knew what was in the tubes. On traffic lights there is a difference in
intensity and tonality, and a regularity in position, and one can tell a lot
by which way the traffic is moving. No fenderbenders, no tickets. So far.
There are worse problems.
