oil,again

I'm sure that this has been discussed before BUT what is the collective
opinion of the 5-50 synthetic oil in a 73 GTV in the summer. I usually use
20-50. The engine has 80k on it and is still very healthy. Is the 5-50 too
thin and really just a winter oil? Thanks bob Brooks                        
                        73 GTV, 66 A-H Sprite,95 saab 900 and a Windstar for
the rest of the family.
