Pulling it through

I found a new way to remove the V6 from a Milano last night. We had
been parting out a Milano and arrived at the point of removing the
engine. I had taken both heads off, using my V6 head puller tool and
then it was either rent a engine hoist or try something else. I
decided to try pulling it straight through, by cutting the top
crosspiece adjacent to the radiator and then just using a floor jack
with a block of wood, repositioned a couple of times, and voila, it
actually wasn't very hard at all. Don't think I would want to put it
back that way. Yes, I know, now the Milano is ready for a Volvo
engine or something, but I think I shall decline that option.

Best price I have seen on new engine hoists was at BJ's Wholesale
club, they have a folding model for 190 dollars.

Ciao, Jay
