addenda on final drive gear ratios

In AD7-640 Godfrey DiGiorgi, responding to a question "For US spec 105, 115
models, does someone know what years had 4.56 and which years had 4.11?
writes " According to the best info I can find, all US delivery 105/115
Spiders from '69 to '81 (1750 and 2000 engines) had the 4.56:1 gearing, and
all '82 and later cars had 4.11:1 gearing. The changeover point seems to have
been the introduction of the Bosch L-Jet engine in '82"

One added data point, a 1980 Road & Track test for their "Sports & GT Cars"
annual (reprinted in The Brooklands Books Spider Gold Portfolio) gives the
rear end ratio as 4.10 and in the text links this to the introduction of the
single butterfly induction, breakerless ignition, variable valve timing last
iteration of the Spica engine.

Godfrey states further "Some of the european road tests in my Spider road
test collections seem to indicate that the standard european delivery cars
were fitted with the taller rear, but it's not entirely clear whether the
1750s were or whether it was only the 2000s."

A "Motor" (British) road test of the 1750, May 24 1969 reprinted in the
non-gold (silver?) Brooklands Spider compilation gives the final drive ratio
as 4.1-1. A 1750 GT Veloce test by John Bolster in "Autosport", August 16
1968 (in Brooklands' Giulia Coupes) also gives 4.1-1, as does a 1750 GT
Veloce test by "Motor", incorrectly dated in the table of contents (and
sequenced in the book) as July 1966 but apparently 1968. "Autocar" in
September '68 gave the same 4.1 for the 1750 GT Veloce.

Cordially,
