Spider Doors not closing

I seem to have a problem with the door release handles on the inside door of
my 1992 Spider 1.6.  When the doors are opened from the inside, the door
pull lever seems to stick back. When you then close the door, the lock has
not yet released & so the door springs back open, and only after 2 or 3
tries, does the door closes.
 
I have tried oil, but it does not help. 

Any one had this problem??
