fitting a milano/late gtv6 box and shifter into an early gtv6/alfetta
requires some 'massaging' of the sheet metal around the shifter - the later
shifter takes up more space. i'm getting ready to install a platinum box
into my '82 gtv6 and have decided to use the early shifter rather than
'modify' the sheet metal of the car.

other differences - the half shafts won't bolt up (different sizes, need to
swap the stub axles), speedo sender, aluminum calipers, maybe more. all of
this can be done, it just requires grafting some stuff from the alfetta back
on to the milano transaxle.

if i were going to use milano stuff i'd consider trying to locate a milano
parts car and use the entire rear end, plus the front hubs, and convert to
the five bolt hubs and aluminum calipers. or locate an early gtv6 parts
car, you could convert the entire suspension if you'd like (torsion bars,
sway bars, etc).

probably simpler to repair the one you have..

have fun,

bs
