Re: Help... can't get the buzzing to stop on my GTV

My recently acquired '74 GTV has developed a loud buzzing sound coming from 
the left of the steering column in the area of the box containing two fuses. 
The buzzing starts when I shift into any gear and stops when I shift into 
neutral. I'm totally perplexed. Could my shift linkage be shorting a wire? 
And what's the purpose of the buzzer in the GTV anyway?

All and any advise much appreciated.
