Gyrocopter tip stalls (Little Alfa content)

Greeting Alfisti,and Mr.DiMatteo in particular,
Alfa powered gyrocopter;what a great combination! A motor that needs to
rev and a plane that needs a relaible motor.Sounds like a lot of fun!
Speeds on helicopters/gyrocopters are somewhat limited due to the fact
that after a certain amount of speed (around 140 knots plus) the tips of the
rotors are actually going faster than the speed of sound. You end up with a
rotor tip that's going so fast it cant really generate any lift, and ends up in
what's called a "tip stall".At that point the lift is lost on that part of
the rotor blade.
This is my understanding;might be wrong but if I am I'm reassured that
others will correct me.
Badly wanting some stick time in your "copter", Mr.DiMatteo!
