Bastardizations and bad oil

I have a friend who sold his '72 GTJ, after doing nice rust repair to a
hot rodder who was going to put in a chevy V-6. He liked the look of
the Alfa and was going to do a custom interior as well...
Somewhere in the northeast I believe, there is a GTV-6 with a Maserati
V-8. That would be a sight to see. At least it's a nice motor.
I was told that Cartech in N.Y. did a GTV-6 with a turbo Buick V-6.
Here in CT there is a Bugeye Sprite with a real hot 1750 and a close
ratio GTA gearbox. That is pretty nice.
Then there were the Old 2000 roadsters & 2600. One 2000 had a Buick 215
V-8, and the other a Chevy V-8. The 2600 spider belonged to a friend
before I met him and was a "almost finished" conversion to a 289 Ford.
Then there are the giuliettas. On had a Volvo P1800 engine and
overdrive gearbox and was done ok but the car was really rusty. The
next one had a 289 Ford in it, but the project came to a halt before it
was finished. The last was the "alfallac". It had the stock drivetrain
but '59 Cadillac fins grafted on. I was told it didn't look that bad...

I know several people who bought their Alfa's new and changed the oil
every 3000 miles with Selena. Within a few years they were BLACK
inside. Looked like they NEVER changed it. I helped do a belt on one
and it looked like a disgusting, filthy 200K motor inside. I have used
Mobil 1 and Syntec with good luck, but I prefer Mobil 1. They are both
cheaper and more importantly better. I would not use it if it were FREE.
But oil can be a 'personal' thing and it's only my opinion.

Enjoy the weekend !

PS I do not have any more prats, I have PARTS. Sorry to all those who
really wanted the prats.
