reving the engine.



Jeff was aksing about reving the alfa engines- I can tell you what I do- 
As soon as I notice that the temp gage has not only warmed up, but also
gone down a bit (from the t-stat), then I rev it to the redline all the 
time.

My wife always comments that I do it more often in the GTV than our other
cars, and that she needs to get used to doing it...  I must say, all of my
Alfas have run BETTER after either an autocross or track time when I'm forced
to run up to the redline (or a little past ;).

Don't be afraid- it even starts to sound better above 5000rpm.

Geez- I remember selling my Alfetta, and riding along...  some of the drivers
NEVER ran the engine above 3500rpm- I wanted to scream!  Or jump in the
seat to show how the car really likes to run.

Just remember- all Alfa engines are well lubricated, and the bottom end
is nearly bullet proof.
