164 rack

To remove the rack the first tip is to get the car as high as possible,
preferably on a hoist. There is a heat shield at the fron of the rack which
uses smaller nuts that bolt to extensions of the studs. These two can be
undone from the top using a long extension and universal joint. If I
remember correctly the second nuts can be undone from the top als (at least
one side). The rear nuts are more difficult. Its a matter of finding a
"comfortable" position to get a ring and open ender. You will end up undoing
these 1/16 of a turn at a time. It may be useful to drop the bottom of the
subframe to get a little more clearance. Once all the nuts are undone the
rack must be prised off locating spigots with a lever.

Doesn't sound too hard? Allow at least a full day to remove and replace,
maybe 11/2 days.
