I'm not sure about the German usage, but this abbreviation is used quite
often in the South African motor industry and stands for "Complete Knock
Down."
In order to protect the local auto workers, the government demanded that a
given proportion of a locally sold car be contributed by local labour.  The
auto manufacturers then sent kits to SA where they were assembled, thus
complying with the local content requirements.
