For buffing any paint surface, I have always had good results with
Meguires #9 scratch and swirl remover. It won't take out deep scratches
but small ones and any swirling or dulling disappears completely.
It takes A LOT of elbow grease "but we love to polish our cars don't we?" 
Rub in a straight line (seemingly forever) and you will get a finish much
like glass.
