Replacing lamp behind spider gauge

Greetings,

I am having a bit of trouble replacing the lamp behind the coolant
temperature gauge (the rightmost of the three gauges in the center console)
on my '84 Spider.  I took out the glove compartment hoping I could reach it,
but all I have been able to do is fumble around a bit.  Is there an easy way
to get to the back of the gauge?  Is the bulb a standard size?
