Alfetta Ignition Conversion

G'day Alfisti,

I recently picked up a Bosch electronic ignition unit from a wrecked '84
2ltr GTV, with the intention of replacing the standard Bosch points unit
in my '79 Alfetta 2ltr with the electronic unit.I finally got around to
comparing the two units today- no problem with the wiring, but I did
overlook one difference when I got the electronic unit, that being that
the points unit does not have a vacuum advance unit, while the
electronic unit does! I am in a bit of a bind, seeing as I don't have
immediate access to a later model Alfetta to see where the unit gets it
vacuum source. I have spent ages staring at my engine trying to figure
how to set up the vacuum hoses or finding a spare vacuum port. Could
anyone let me know where the advance unit should get its source from, or
suggest an alternative source? My 2ltr runs the Dellorto carbs, if that
makes any difference.

OK, I realise this may seem like a very basic problem, and the solution
is probably staring me right in the face, but for the time being it has
me stumped....
