Fast 164L (and then some)

Dave J,

Thanks for telling us something we already know about torque, gearing ,
and cars.
The object of this article was not to hurt anybody's feelings but to
tell the story. We know that the muscle cars are "good". The point I
was trying to make was that these guys were amazed at the performance of
the 164 equipped with a V6 not a hulking V8 like the "other" cars. I'm
sure most of these guys would kick my rear at the drag strip. Of course
it doesn't take much to go a 1/4 mile in a straight line (beat the tree,
fat tires, and gobs of torque & HP).

See, I and a couple of other Alfa fans were there in the middle of these
"others" car guys. Buy the way, this particular group of guys were from
south, south Georgia (if you know what I mean). 99% of them had never
seen or heard of an Alfa Romeo. That was the fun of it! To see their
expression when this little white 4 door achieved that speed.

I have nothing against any "car guy" whether it be Alfas or Pintos. If
they like cars then I like them.

By the way, there was no attitude in that story. It was suppose to be
comical, but I guess you had to be there...
