Scott, Yes this happened to the radio in my 91.  The radio was replaced
with an in dash CD/radio unit.  There is enough room to allow for a
professional finish trim plate to be placed.  At this point everything
is fine, except I need to troubleshoot a non-functioning right front
speaker.

The push scooter sig is a hoot!  I have two if these in my garage too!
