up in smoke!!

a few days ago I used AM on my 92 164L for the first time, the result
was burning electronics and smoke coming out of my casset hole.  The
radio still works (it lost a little bit of reseption on FM) but the AM
dose not work.  Has this happend to any one else, or is this the
punishment for starting the cupholder thing.  Has any body put a after
market radio in there car and how dose it look?

ps, get the tamayia 1/10 scale 155 v6 radio controled car, that thing is
a blast to drive (also got the 156 body for it)
