Repairing 75TS's idle speed stabiliser

I sprayed WD40 into what I though was an ill idle speed stabiliser (removed
the rubber hose and sprayed in from that end) yesterday. The solution seems
to work! I have not got any rough idle problem for the 30+km I drove since.
However, I have since been hearing clattering sounds from the engine
compartment at certain revs. Sounds like metal hitting against one another.
Has another had this experience?
