Re: early '70's specs,cont

In AD7-423 Peter Audet asks-
"Does anyone have access to the d'Amico/Tabucchi book "Alfa Romeo Production
Cars"? I would like to find info on three Alfas:
1) #1238320 1970: orig. GT1750 or GTjr1300?
2) #1248386 1970: orig. GT1750 or GTjr1300?
3) #3024755 GTV2000: 1974?75?
Would the "Book" refer to model years or year/date of prod.?"

Fusi gives build years, d'Amico/Tabucchi gives model years.

On such questions as "orig. GT1750 or GTjr1300?" the five numbers immediately
preceding (which may be on a separate plate) are the quick ones: Series 105.30
is the GT 1300 Junior, 105.31 is the GT 1300 Junior RHD, 105.44 is the 1750
GTV, 105.45 is the 1750 GTV RHD, 105.51 is the 1750 GTV USA, and so-forth. The
USA 2000 GTV is a 115.01.

My copy of d'Amico/Tabucchi is out on loan at the moment, but per Fusi-

"1) #1238320 1970: orig. GT1750 or GTjr1300?" #1238320 falls within the range
1227448-1242301 of GT 1300 Juniors built in 1969.

"2) #1248386 1970: orig. GT1750 or GTjr1300?" #1248386 falls within the range
1243202-1255269 of GT 1300 Juniors built in 1970.

"3) #3024755 GTV2000: 1974?75?" Fusi ends with the '72, but #3024755 is above
the starting number 3023031 of the 1974 model year USA 2000 GTV as listed by
Alfa Romeo Inc. (The USA subsidiary) and there was no later model year for
this country. Often the build date is earlier than the model year, but
occasionally for compliance reasons a car may be back-dated to a model year
earlier than the build-date. Ergo, #3024755 (assuming it is a 115.01) is a
"1974", although conceivably built later, pending a d'Amico/Tabucchi cross-
check.
