You guys don't live in the real world!  UK price is about that PER 
GALLON.  And UK prices are reasonably typical of European 
prices.  I think 80% plus of it is tax, and, supposedly in the name 
of "greeness" the tax will rise at 5% above inflation every year.

The ridiculously cheap petrol in the US is the main reason why the 
US is by far the most profligate user of the earth's resources!
