Blasting & Coating, etc...

Hello all,
Well, I haven't been very active on the list in quite a while. Busy busy
busy... I spotted the recent threads relating to blasting and powder
coating, and it reminded me that I found a couple links a while back that I
wanted to share, so here they are:

http://www.execpc.com/~davewrit/ - Dave Wright's home page. I reccomend
Dave's document titled "Powder Coating for Motorcycles". Note: motorcycles
use metal, just like our cars ;-). Here's the first line of this detailed
document: "This is an attempt to clear up some of the mis-conceptions about
Powder Coating. I have been in the industrial paint and powder business for
 more than 20 years."

Sections covered in this document include:
	What is Powder Coating?
	How is it done?
	Masking
To Coat Or Not To Coat?
	Color and Gloss Choices
	Orange Peel
	Defects and Scratches
	Repairs
	Powder Coating Myths

Dave seems to know what he is talking about. There is also a document
titled "Should I buy a Home Powder Coating Kit?", in which Dave concludes,
"If you are aching to part with some money, and want to be a metal
finisher, by all means, go ahead and try it. But if you are trying to
refinish something properly, it is going to take a lot more than these kits
to do so." It should be noted that I have no connection with this Dave
fella - for all I know, he is a deranged 12-year-old living in his own
little world. I just found his page while seaching for motorcycle info on
the web. It should be further noted that I myself have not yet formulated
an opinion regarding home powder kits, so please don't flame me and tell me
that I'm a moron because you're cranking out show-quality coated parts in
your kitchen.

http://www.metal-finishing.com/ - This URL speaks for itself. Although I
haven't investigated the site extensively, it seems like a very
professional, comprehensive site designed for those inside the metal
finishing industry.

Well, that's it. Hope this helps someone!
