Throttle cable question

Yes, there is supposed to be a bushing in the metal loop (more like an
eye-hole) where the cable fits in. My well-preserved '71 has one there. 

If a SPICA car is in tune, it is not needed. However, it can still be
useful if the TA is dying, or something else has gone out of whack a
bit.

It should *never* be used as a cruise control, as it does not release
when the brakes are applied.
