Water Pipe on 164 LS

Hi can anyone help me. I have a water leak on my 164 24V. The water is
leaking on to the gearbox housing. 
I believe it is coming from the metal water pipe which is between the two
heads (because I can see water sitting 
underneath it), which sits underneath the inlet manifold . Can any one tell
me how to remove this pipe safely, 
I believe it will slide out, but I do not know how it is attached on the
other end, ...is it forced in, sealed in  ?.
I would be very grateful if someone could come up with a solution...because
its cold and I've got no heaters.
