Yes, you are correct. I apologise for not checking my facts before posting. A
quick check of the IMHO excellent redline site (http://www.redlineoil.com/)
indicates that the "NS" variety is for non-limited-slip transaxles. However,
it can be used in LSD's in order to increase lockup and reduce wheelspin (also
makes the diff noiser). I used a 50/50 mix in my Camaro LSD as a compromise
for street driving, which is why I couldn't remember which is which. The site
also states that the friction modifier is not present in the NS type oils, and
may be added to reduce friction, so I had it backwards. Sorry for the
confusion. Also, note that Redline sells 2 other types of manual transmission
oil which claim to protect the synchros, so again I would advise checking the
specs for your transaxle before selecting the best oil for the job.
