Updated Spider clutch question

Ok, After excersizing the Spider to remove it's storage arthritis,
and hopefully get the clutch pedal to lossen up a bit, it has broken
another pivot pin, not the weld but the pin itself! 

Anyway. since I am new to Spiders for the most part, what is it that
binds and makes the pin so stressed? 

I'd like to fix this once and for all time. The car needs a new home,
(belonged to their 23 old son who died without any warning) and I am
trying to sell it for them. It is at my house, thanks to my new used tow
dolly. (that was fun with the 168...looked like I was carrying a spare
Alfa)
