'91 164L Oil Filter Removal

I seem to recall a thread not too long ago about removal of the oil filters
on 164's.

I recently picked up a terrific '91 164 and want to change the oil.  The
filter appears to be almost impossible to get to.  Can anybody shed some
light on how to get the filter off?
