caribou tops

Hi all,
Thanks for the advice on convertible tops a couple of months back. I just
got my Caribou top last week, and noticed that the part where the window
meets the top are attached with velcro. On my old top, they are fixed. What
I wanted to know is, is there a reason for this or some kind of advantage it
gives?
