VIN/Chassis numbers

Help needed.  Is there a list available which would show the year of
manufacture of an Alfa based on the Vehicle Identification Number or the
chassis number?  I'm considering buying a 105 for vintage racing and need to
know the approximate date of manufacture for the car's eligibility.  Thanks!
