I don't know what model is being discussed, but this is phenomenon is fact
(legend? - get it?) as far as the 164 is concerned. Change a worn clutch and
pedal effort reduces by half. The heaviness is a good indicator of the
clutch condition.
I can only speculate that the mechanical advantage of the leverage system is
reduced as the clutch wears.
