In AD7-288 Bernie Zelazny answered Jaap Bouma's recollection that " I seem to
remember somebody mentioning that he/she used an alternator from a mercedes."
Bernie replied ,
"Jaap,
"I'm the GTV6 owner with the Mercedes Bosch alternator. I've pulled out the
receipt, the warranty card, the box and nothing has a model number on it!
#:^0
"The invoice says "modified Mercedes alternator."
"I also look at the AD archives and unfortunately they only go back to July
when Richard moved the Digest to it's current home. I got the alternator in
early June. I thought I wrote about it La Pilota, but can't find a word
about it. If some one has archived the AD back in JUne maybe they can find
the model number in the post I made at the time. I'd like the info too.

1. Days before my alternator cratered new Magnacor "8mm High
Performance" spark plug (sparking) wires were installed on the
`83 GTV6. No noticeable change in performance.
2. The new alternator (installed yesterday) is a heavy duty Bosch
model originally made for Mercedes Benz and adapted to fit Alfa
Romeos. It is cranking out more amps than the old one ever did.

That is all that post said about the alternator. In case there might have been
a prior post I checked everyhing Bernie's posted in the prior two months and
found nothing. If Bernie finds out more, it would be interesting.
