I have a 79 spider w/spica injection. Its backfiring in the exhaust,
upshifting and downshifting. Would the T/A cause this?
These are my actual compression numbers:
here are the specs from test: cyl#1 = 145 psi dry & 178 psi wet
cyl#2 = 150 psi dry & 175 psi wet
cyl#3 = 125 psi dry & 150 psi wet
cyl#4 = 100 psi dry & 123 psi wet
The throttle was open.
I've inspected the valve clearance and this is what was
determined:
CYLINDER# #1 #2 #3 #4
INTAKE .019 .012 .013 .008
EXHAUST .015 .015 .016 .015
What do these numbers mean to you? What effect would
insufficient valve clearance cause?
Tony from CT.
