Jacobs Ignition

Hi~!!
Does anyone have experience with Jacobs Electronic ignition?
My father is close to obsessed with the idea that his Chevy Van RoadTrek
motor home needs this upgrade but he wants more feedback. 

They use an Alfa 164 for one of their example in one of the foreign car
magazines. Is it snake oil or is it legit?
