Factory stereo in 164

For those that have the '91-'93 factory stereo and feel that it doesn't sound
as good as others that they have heard, the stereo can be "tweaked".There are
some adjustments that can be done trough the top cover to make it sound better
as far as more crisp highs and more power output and there is even a variable
condenser that if tested careful can bring up a bit better reception. Also, on
the back of it there is a socket that looks like the one for a car-phone,
resembling a phone wall-socket but bigger. I wonder if that would be for an
intended ( by Alpine who made the stereo) factory-style CD-changer, or for a
wired remote control.
Also it's not necessary to remove the whole console to get the radio out but
just the passenger side-panel and loosen the rest of screws, I think not even
remove the ac-ECU (I did it last nite, but now think it's not necessary).all
you have to do is locate a piece of black plastic on the passenger side that
is wedged between the sidewall of the radio and the console, and remove it.
Well, I thought that someone might be interested..
If anyone knows of any options for the stereo, that were made available at
dealership, please tell me.
Regards,

Vlad
