Vibration in 87 spider

I have a vibration coming from the engine compartment on my '87 spider. It
starts when I reach about 2800 r's pm and continues through about 3500. It
does this in all gears.

I have been under the car and can find nothing loose on the motor mounts or U
joints. My mechanic is backed up for about 2-3 weeks and the weather in
southeastern Tennessee is awesome right now. Any ideas?
