gaskets and the bird

1. gaskets

I recently finished a rebuild on the Alfetta engine. I used the aftermarket
gasket set from IAP. So far the cam cover gasket took a shit and I got a
coolant leak from the timing cover gasket. I replaced the cam cover gasket
with a factory originali and have had no further problem. The timing cover
gasket is another story - replacing it is a MAJOR job. I poured a can of
"Aluma-Seal" into the radiator and it seemed to work but twice now I have
mysteriously lost quantities of coolant and now carry two gallons of water
in the trunk "just in case". I have subsequently re-disassembled parts of my
Spider engine to rid it of any aftermarket gaskets and replace them with
factory OEM.

2. the bird

Just don't do it. These days, my only use for it is as a friendly gesture -
I mean with someone with whom you are closely aquatinted. Not for strangers.
