see, there's this humongous giubo a-rotatin

Bernie Bennett explains that "Many non East/Gulf Coasters may not be aware
that there is a dirty side to a hurricane."

Basic mechanics. Has to do with clockwise/counterclockwise, depending on which
hemisphere you are in, and is affected by the rate of forward motion of the
rotational device. The forward speed is added to the average wind speed on one
side and subtracted from the average wind speed on the other side, and (at the
coast) the character of the debris will be different, as will the water
content and the storm-surge level BUT these things are true only if you are
(A) at a coast and (B) not on the direct path. On an island, or inland, the
speed differential holds true but the debris differential does not. If you ARE
on-axis, as we were, ain't no clean-side/dirty-side dichotomy inland, on open
water, or at the coast.

Anyhow, keep the car tied down, the cats in, the insurance paid up, and stay
dry-
