Dell'Ortos/Solexes/Webers

just catching up on accumulated digests and saw the posts on bolt patterns
for these carbs. The sidedraught versions all have identical bolt patterns
for the 40 mm versions as well as the 45s (haven't seen any 45 mm Solexes -
do they exist?). The rare 42 mm Weber also has the same bolt pattern. So
all these carbs are interchangeable and it is even possible to bolt 40 mm
carbs onto 45 mm blocks, and 45 mm carbs onto 40 mm blocks, as I've had to
do when the proper size was not available and the sight of flames leaping
out in pulses from a split block got a bit too scarey!

Fitment - most of the 1750s that came to NZ had Webers. Most of the 2000s
had Dell'Ortos or Solexes.
