tail lamp bulbs

If the taillamp is on, the filament will be fairly hot.  If the taillamp is
off, it will be cool.  From examining the way the metal fractures, a
metallurgist can tell if the bulb was on or not.  I think it's a cleaner
break if the metal is cool, but I don't remember.  It's not really a design
feature, just the way metal is.
