Your offer of the loan of the berlina sounds great!  this of course assumes
the car is still ok in 6 months time, and I manage to get there!

even if I dont end up borrowing it, Id love to visit anyway.

would there be any problems with insurance or registration or anything like
that?  a few people have told me that buying a car may end up pretty
expensive once insurance is paid.  Here in Australia, 3rd party personal
insurance is built into the registration cost.  Third party property is
optional but very strongly recommended (but not to expensive) and is
independant of who was driving the car.

but it does sound pretty good.  if you change your mind, thats cool.  

at the moment, the whole trip is kind of vague and hazy, and will probably
remain so for a few months yet.
when I know more, Ill let you know.  Im starting to build a list of people
to visit when Im there - should be heaps of fun!
