flakey GTV6 power window motor

the passenger's power window in my '85 GTV6 hasn't really worked since i
bought the car in january. it did operate correctly ONCE while i was
demonstrating to a friend all of the things that were broken in the car
(nice suprise). naturally, it wouldn't go back up after coming down until i
got the bright idea of holding down the switch while a friend opened the
door and sorta slammed it shut. wound up just fine. it's never repeated
this performance.

so i did two seconds worth of thinking and came up with: loose contact
somewhere within the door. unfortunately, the door panel was attached by a
hamfisted previous owner or mechanic who used the wrong screws and got one
thoroughly stuck. last weekend i finally was able to remove the offending
screw. using a voltmeter, i verified that when the switch was depressed,
power did make it to the connector within the door. after i hooked it back
up, i noticed that the motor made a little click noise each time the switch
was depressed. so now i'm thinking that something within the motor itself
is pooched and that i'll need to replace the motor on that side.

so: does anyone have any experience removing/replacing the motor? since i
can't really see how everything is hooked up in there, i'm a bit hesitant to
start taking screws out. i don't want some spring-loaded part of the
cable/motor/window mechanism to go flying off, never to be found or
replaced. any pointers would be appreciated.

naturally: anyone have a spare motor in their parts bin or on their parts
car they'd like to part with?
