Rivets promote rust .. and other Australian theories

No Les, we have the same laws of chemistry and physics
in Australia. What I was eluding to, is that the Aluminium
oxides swell to a crusty mass which cracks paint from the
edges of the rivet-to-metal area and also holds water.
I.e. no paint on panels + water = rust.

What the h*ll does that "whacko" have to do with Alfa
Romeo's rusting? Let's keep to the topic at hand... I
will not be drawn into political comments here.

>Alfettas are more beautiful than 105 GTVs ... yeah, right
As I said in my append - "IN MY OPINION"! You are entitled
to your opinion Les. You will not convince me to like
the 105 GT Veloces more than 116 coupes, no matter
how much you try.

I like Brian Shorey's view really - I would like to have
a fleet of different Alfa Romeos. This does not change
*my* opinion of which models *I* like the most though.

I will not even comment on your patronising Australian
quips, except keep your day job!
