Sure have, Karl, Sophia, my '91 168 B, does exactly this on the drivers
side about once a year, usually at speed so it scares the crap out of
you. I have no idea of the cause, but attribute it to her lovely
personality, and her idea of playing games.

Probably either in the switch or something in the regulator, moisture
perhaps? It's humid here.
