Skybeaver's hiccuping GTV6

My GTV6 has always been well-behaved...

But the Milano had a problem very similar to what you describe. Some of the
best minds in the hemisphere puzzeled and prodded for moths, parts were
changed, and nothing worked until...

The AFM was removed and compared with two other AFM units. Seems there was a
very slight downward bend in the pivoting switch (looks like a clock hand) on
the side of the unit that's is the fuel cut-off switch. The bend caused the
tip of the "hand" to sometimes come in contact with the flat part of the AFM,
which is a circuit board. This intermittently shorted out the fuel pump.
Gently bending the "hand" back into a straight shape parallel to the AFM board
fixed the problem,no parts or tools needed. However it took hundreds of
dollars and many misspent hours to get to the problem. Hope yours is as
simple! BTW, the Milano is an 87 2.5; your AFM possible is a slightly
different unit, but may have the same general shape and be subject to the same
fuel-pump shorting problem.

Best luck!
