Bang!!

Hello all,

Thought you all might like to share in some magic I had last night with
my GTV6. Coming home in NJ from Long Island NY from a friends wedding
making beautiful time heading towards the George Washington Bridge from
the Major Deegan I hit a expansion joint in the road that is about 4"
deep. Well BANG !! goes the entire car over this joint (car is lowered
and stiffened)So hard I feel it in my soul. Well rpm's drop to zero all
is still working and now I have a dead GTV6 parked on a dangerous ramp
approach to the bridge at 2:45am. Cant risk poking around too much but
I realize something got shook loose.

Eventually, (1-1/2 hour) a tow truck shows takes me the 2-1/2 miles to
my house and lightens my pocket by $70.(No AAA and only 2nd time in 15
yrs of needing a tow.)

Well I started by seeing if i was getting gas to the plugs which i was
cause the Throttle body was soaked with gas from trying to start it. So
I moved to the distrib for no reason other than it was the easiest to
access. Low and behold the rotor had been "bounced" 90degrees out of
kilter. So cleaned cap and rotor and refitted and then cleaned plugs
as they were now fouled. Disconnected the cold start injector and two
cranks of the engine and she fired!!

This whole event was a mixed blessing, I realize that my rotor has a
slight defect in the "key" inside it that does not allow it to seat all
the way down so I will replace it. But this little adventure cost me
and agravated me. And I know it has nothing to do with Alfas which is I
guess good too.

Well sorry if it was a bit boring but fealt the need to vent.

Thanks
Antonio
