Dash dimmer switch

My dimmer switch on my Milano Verde works fine, but when it is put on the
highest intensity the idiot light on the dash indicating that there is a bulb
failure comes on.  It doesn't if I back the dimmer off a bit.  Anybody have
any ideas?
