my 74 gtv won't charge the battery and i can't locate the problem. i had
the
alternator replaced and checked and the voltage regulator renewed. the
battery
is located in the trunk, so i wonder if the cable going to it is  bad.

You must check to see if there is a voltage present at thee red wire
from the alternator to the terninal block.   Does the warning light stay
on when the engine is running?  Answer those questions and we'll go from
there.
