164 stepper gears experience

Any 164 owners bought and installed replacement (alloy) stepper motor
gearbox gears being offered by Doug Hodson in the UK? I spoke to Doug by
phone a few weeks ago, he said he'd sold more than 30 sets around the
globe. Right now he seems to be away on holidays, so while I'm cooling my
heels thought I'd see if there was any feedback on his solution to this
annoying 164 characteristic...
